blowers anyone?
Hi z dudes! I'm a newbie today! I'm building a 70z. It is all stock. I just bought a 5 speed at a pick n pull out of a 81zx, it's a good one .This wekend I'm going back for the R200 and the usual stuff for the conversion. my question is, what do you think of a 300zx turbo engine (7.5 compression with p90 head). Taking the turbo stuff off and put a supercharger on it? I considered buying a RB25DETT front clip but for $5000 usd you get a 7 year old drive train that is probably thrashed. So I would end up putting another $3000 for the r & r. I prefer a 250-300hp daily driver.
Thanks for your input, there is a lot of valuable information on this sight and I hope to share my experinces with you too.

The rb25 is a single turbo motor, so it's det, not dett
second, you can get the rb25det tranny, harness , ecu and motor with turbos for $1800. www.venus-auto.com sells them that cheap. Your other alternative is rb20det, same combination under 1000 dollars.
If you want direct swap, L28et from a 280zx-t would be the easiest to do. There's also the option of doing a v8 swap with a chevy v8, and there's a manual available on how to do the swap for about $35. Total cost of conversion can be done under 3k.

pro nissan
thank you for the info on RB's. I'm set on nissan, and now the RB swap is sounding better. I will still explore the posibilities of supercharging but hope is fading.
