Anyone using simulation software?
I'm looking for Datsun common engine setup files (stock or otherwise) for Engine Analyzer 3.0 and/or Desktop Dyno 2000, anyone?
Now onto Google... |
Re: Anyone using simulation software?
I'm using DesktopDyno2000. Pretty old looking, but reasonably accurate. From what I figured out, using the stock L28 as a test, stock bore and stroke, stock valve diameter. With headers, I got 220 HP at 5600 rpm, max TQ 238 lb-ft @4500 rpm. These figures seem ok, maybe a bit high at the crank. Naturally, the sim assumes correct carb settings. Let me know if you need any specs from the sim.

Those numbers seem extremelly high for a N/A stock
280 . I would have said around 170 stock and the crank. |
Re: Anyone using simulation software?
Yeah, stock it registers at around 170HP correct? Unfortunately things like intake/exaust/head etc design come into play, and I dont even know the stock CAM specs much less the fancy pants stuff. I seem to remember that Desktop Dyno makes assumptions about things or asks for efficiency numbers, where Engine Analyzer lets you put in more specifics.
I'd love a copy of your file though if you dont mind emailin it to me (the engine/head files not the software of course). |
