AT to MT conversion...
So here is the deal.
I am almost ready to put my engine in, just
have to workout the flywheel/clutch install. My engine was formerly an auto,
so it just had a flexplate, and spacer with the 6 attaching bolts. Now I
have a 240mm MT flywheel. I know I need to get rid of the spacer that was on
there with the flex plate, add a pilot bushing to the crankshaft (for the
input shaft of the tranny)... What I am wondering, is if I need to find some
bolts meant for a MT flywheel, or if the AT flexplate ones are the same. The
flexplate weighed around 4-8lbs, while the flywheel is 27lbs... rotating at
6000+ rpm I want to be sure.

Re: AT to MT conversion...
I just checked the Fiche and the bolts are different between auto and manual. Go to a dealer and buy new bolts. If I remember correctly, they shouldn't be reused anyway (at least not too many times). According to the Fiche, the P/N you want is 12315-A8600 up to 3/75 or 12315-U8600 after 4/75. I doubt there is much difference, but you never know.

Go to http://www.240z.org/cdrom.htm. The only problem for you is that they only cover the Z and not ZX
