76 280Z Vacume question

I just got done going through the entire fuel system. Cleaned the tank, new fuel filter, added another fuel filter between tank and pump, replaced all injectors, and fuel pressure sending unit. Started it up, and runs ok. stutters when you rev it up. it's running way rich. I think it's a vacume advance issue. I followed the main vacume line coming off the intake to the canister thing located in the front right corner of the engine bay. This appears to be a vacume distribution device, right? When I remove the intake tube from the canister, the engine idles much higher. When I replace it, and remove any of the other vacume lines, there doesn't seem to be any vacume coming from the canister. It would seem to me the reason for the stuttering and running rich is that when I rev the motor, the timinmg may not be advancing and therefore not burning all the fuel being dumped into the cyl. What do you folks think? Sugestions?

Download the fsm and make sure your vacuum lines are hooked up correctly with no leaks.
