75 280z help
while driving the car died. the fusable links blew so hard it popped the cap off. i replaced the links, discovered there was no power to the fuel pump, replaced fuel pump. still no power. i also discovered there was no spark. replaced cap, rotor, coil, and did electrical test. there is power to the coil. but i still have no spark and power to the pump. can someone please also tell me where the fuel injection relay switch is, i was told it's under the dash on left side of steering column. the replacement relay does not look like any of the relays under the dash. i checked the part number several times and it matches but i still can not find it. (if this is even the problem) can anyone help?

Re: 75 280z help
fuel injection relay is indeed under the dash left of the column....just as you clear the bottom of the dash it's right there. it looks like two relays siamesed together and is bright silver colored.
did you test for power exiting the coil?????? and this may sound dumb, but if there was no power to the fuel pump, why did you replace the pump???? i would trace all the wiring back to the pump and make sure you have continuity to it. get the pump working..... then check the ignition system for bad wiring the same way...get a manual and trace the wires. sounds like you have a serious short somewhere in the system that needs to be sorted out. you may also want to check the condition of the ignition module under the dash on the passenger kick panel. good luch bro and let me know if ya need more help!!! laterzzzzzzz |
