I have looked at and am thinking of buying a 1972 240Z.
It did run until reciently- battery is dead.
The exterior looks good, minus a broken drivers side light bucket. I could not see any rust at this time.
The interior is ......... pretty much non existent.... like no carpet or ceiling, door panel missing, passenger door window is gone, frame around window intact ...... seats are very good.
Engine is stock. Owner does not know how many miles... it only shows 34k...... i'm thinking 234.-- seeing as my 280ZX TURBO has 267+k and still runs great.
Has to be hotwired to start because key does not work anymore.
I've seen the "Title" and it is from Nevada. The VIN # has been removed from the windshield (raised eyebrow). I'm gonna try to find the VIN before I buy it and have it run to see if it is stolen just to be safe.

He is asking $150.
I know he paid $450 a month ago for it.
He put in new in line fuel filter and fixed the headlights switch, and a few other minor things.

IS THIS CAR A DEAL?? OR NOT??

 

I'd say its a great deal, if there is no rust.. you can get interoir stuff, from wreckers etc.. and all the other parts from wreckers also..

Get the VIN first. If you buy it and can't find the VIN you will have one hell of a time getting it registered. You can be shady and pull the VIN off a Z sitting in a salvage yard but, I wouldn't recomend that.

 

If the dash's VIN has been removed, you're gonna have a rough time getting it through OSI if it doesn't have an AZ title already.

Are there any VIN's on the vehicle at all?

The VIN # is also etched into the firewall. it should be near the brake booster but higher up. assuming it is a lefty

The car does have a title and I found the VIN on the firewall.
Wow does this car need work... from carbs to interior.
