280Z Strut bar options

I recently aquired a 1975 280Z, look under rides, page 6 under Timberwolf to see it. Anycase It has a turbo ZX hood on it. If you are familiar with this you know that on the under sife it has a wind tunnel that hangs down about 2-3 inches. When the hoos is closed, it is exactly when my strut bar would be. I love the hood scoop, but would also like to have a strut bar.

Does anyone know of another manufactuer of strut bars for a 280Z besides Motorsports Auto? I need it as flat as possible, maybe at the same elevation as the towers themselves.

Try DCSports they make a flat bar type swaybar but you probably need to get it custom made..

Thanks for the thought, however I made my own third option. I took a dremel tool and modified the ZX hood scoop on the bottom to allow clearance for the strut bar. Looks good and handles very nicely. I am still undecided if I should install the rear strut bar seeing as the roll gage really does the same thing in stiffing up the frame. If I install both it may look a little crowded, not to mention I can haul nothing bigger than a cell phone in the rear of my Z.

wow i never realized how well a ZX hood works on a Z, i know the mounting on the hood is different, so did you have to use the ZX hinges?

Actually it is not the hood but rather the ZXT Hood scoop/ RAM air device. It was designed to shift air directly over the turbo, however this car does not have a turbo. It is there for looks only.

Cancel my last post also, I thought I had figured out the strut bar equation but it appears have not. Still not enough clearance.
