1976 Z air regulator
76 Z wouldn't idle when engine was cold so I put on a new air regulator. Now when I start it up cold it idles @ 1600 rpms until it warms up then slows down to normal idle 800. Is there a way to adjust the air regulator so it wouldn't start off so high.

Re: 1976 Z air regulator
That is how the air regulator works. Cold = closed, warm = open. Not much middle ground. I suppose you could custom make an air regulator that you can open or close manually like a choke...but why...to save 5 mins of faster idle? If the air regulator is open while the car is cold you get a bad idle...thats the reason for the fast idle.
