$400 280z
there is a 280z for sale at a local lot for $400. not sure if it runs or what shape most things are in, but it looked pretty good. i dont think it runs, thus the $400 price tag. I am going to look at it again after work and check the rust status.
Its a carbureted motor, so i am thinking its a 76, someone here proly knows a bit more. but it is an l28 motor. what do you guys think? good deal? |
Pretty good deal... I just bought a 76 for $400... it's got a blown motor. :D
|
:wasted: i would probly buy it with a blown motor
|
1976 would be a 280Z. Originally fuel injected but I have seen people switch to carbs because they couldn't figure out an electrical problem. :)
There is a local 240Z in good condition, barely runs, and only $1600 :D I want it. |
it looks like an originally carb'ed motor. the tail lights are different than the ones on my 77 280, so might it be a 260? im not sure of all the differences...
|
well bumpers are one unless its a 74.5 260Z then they looke like the 280 but NO 280 ever came carb'ed open her up and look at the door jamb plates and so on
|
Sure its not a 240Z? The 240Z had the turn light indicators as part of the taillight pod...where in the 260 and 280Z, that light was separate.
|
it has the mounts for the park bench bumpers, but the door jamb plate is missing, i did look for that. i checked the engine bay plate, and i could make out the serial and model (hls30) and thats about it. i will have to go look again when i have time. it looks like its been sittin for a long while, the drivers' side floor pan is rusted out, and the frame rail on the passenger side is just rust towards the rear. i need to find someone to talk to and see what the previous known state of it was.
|
There's many ways to tell what model it is.
-VIN -Glove box logo -Fender logos -Hatch logo etc etc etc |
VIN plate gone, emblems ripped off, engine swapped, selling cheap! :D
...sounds like a stolen car without the correct title for it. :) hehe |
update
close! the vin is like hls302502XX and it is a 280z. all the exterior emblems are gone, but the glove box one is there. the bastard swapped in a chrysler motor and tranny from the looks of it... :fenforcer: nobody knew what was going on with and it and the guy who does is never there. good news is that i have a 260z long block that probably needs a lot of work, and a 260 tranny that probably needs some love too. so it might work out in the end :)

Yeah I agree...$400 is worth it...just for the car itself. I would jump all over that.
