Anybody know if a 85'300ZX trans will bolt up to an L24?

Yeah, your right. I was looking at a Chilton manual today and it shows all the trannys from 70 to 88. The one thing they all have in common is an adaptor plate from the bell housing to the trans, even the T-5. I think it would be easier to bolt up to the adapter than the engine block. Making an adapter would be easy and there are a lot of T-5s out there on different cars. Hmmmm, gonna do some homework on this one.

...like maybe the T-5 from a 1982-83 280ZX turbo that is already fitted with a bellhousing for the L-series engine?

ya, that'll work.

Did some checking and found there isn't a way to do it. Worse yet, I was at the Pick n Pull last week and saw a 83'turbo car in there. As I was about to dive under it, I saw someone already there. To make matters worse it was half price day. It would have cost me $65! Missed it by one hour.

I think that Chilton's manual is confusing you. Get a Haynes manual which covers only 1970-78. They are very cheap on eBay.
