Problems mounting front strut tower brace

Hi I'm new to the group and recently picked up a 71 240Z, trying to mount a strut tower brace. Problem my car has the twin SU carbs and there is a vacum pod with linkage that goes to the throttle linkage and the Vacum pod is in the way. What does it do and what would happen if I take it off?

No, that is achrome plated go faster. Looks like it needs to be replaced, because all of the chrome has fallen off.

Scrub!

If it wasn't for new guys we woundn't have anything to do. That's where you run the nitrous to. In the book it's called an anti-backfire valve. When you let off the gas it opens the throttle slightly to keep raw unignited fuel from dumping in the exhaust and igniting in the muffler. On most of the cars it is out of adjustment or doesn't work at all. you decide if you need it or send the tower bar back for the right one. Welcome to Zdriver!
