Polly Urethane LCA Bushings

Hi I was wondering if anyone has installed the Poly urethane lower control arm bushings I pressed the old ones out with the old outer sleeve and went to put the new energy suspension bushings in they seem rather loose I don't know if when I pressed them out the socket widened the hole slightly or if that's how the polyurethane ones are for this if anyone knows that would be great help...
Thanks

for a start polly wants a cracker but polyurethane is a plastic material. unless you pressed them out with a tapered punch you could hardly widen the hole. the best way to get out the old ones is to burn them out. what did you do? I had no problem with mine. when you tighten up the bolts the bushing will expand slightly as they are plastic. by the way how did you get a 1987 280z???

if you would really like answers that would help you and avoid flames give the following info when you post: year of car, n/a or turbo engine, stick or slushbox, digital or analog dash. Most of us can tell by the year what model you have ie 85T is a turbo z31. Z cars come in many flavors and they are all different. example 84,85,86 Z31's pretty comparable. there were changes in 87,88,89. in addition 300ZX can refer to two completly different cars the Z31 and the Z32. No mindreaders here the more info you can post the more likely you get a cogent useful answer. The cars with L engine (straight six) changed almost yearly from their introduction. A 240Z and and a 280Z have similarities but they can also have wide variance.

Ha sorry spelling isn't my strong area never was. I used a press and pressed out the whole thing with a socket but according to the "instructions" your supposed to leave the inner sleeve in? but online people say take them out on the z that the instructions are wrong..

I own a 87 mustang 78 Datsun and a 93 mustang they all run together and I already had submitted it and didn't see a place to ask to have the numbers flipped nor do I have the time to mess with it. Excuse me for having a human error. Figured people who actually knew there stuff would have just flipped the numbers from 87 to 78 but alright you were close 77 one year off nice. :armata_PDT_37:

Some people, huh? I upgraded my control arm bushings, aged 33 yrs, with polyurethane bushings. In fact did the entire suspension over a weekend. Kit also comes with transmission mount bushings and tie rod end caps. The control arm bushings require the sleeve the old bushing is seated into originally. So there is no reason to press out the outer sleeve.

When trying to install the rear control arm poly bushings, I was ready to breath in deep from my tail pipe lol. I said eff it, knocked out the outer sleeve and installed OEM style bushing which are great! They have less material that can wear and shift (less plastic) than the OEM style which is rubber between two metal sleeves. The rest of the poly bushing were not a issue installing.
