new motor
Well The engine is now finished. 10.2 to 1 Compression. I'm pulling the fuel tank tomorrow. I heard that using muratic acid will clean the junk out of it is this true? Also how do you neutalize it when done swishing it around or do I need to rinse it with something and what. Painted the engine with metalic light blue looks great. Will get some pictures to post on progress.:fenforcer:

use water to neutralize that kind of acid, its not very powerfull. a little more corrosive than vinegar.
|
yeah but get it boiling and it'll have you vomiting in an enclosed area ;)

I tried that and it didn't get it all off the bottom. Your better off taking it to a radiator shop and have them boil it out. Cost me $95 but it was like new with no holes. You will still have crud in the fuel lines. Disconnect the line and pump fresh gas to flush it out. The pump can shoot a lot of gas so be careful to run a hose into a gas can.

Working on it
Well pulled the tank and took it in to be boiled cost $130. Pulled the rac and pinion have new tie rod ends. Pulled the tranny for new seals. Still need to but the twice pipes from MSA and a few(hope not to many more) parts and will be able to install the engine. It does look pretty with the light blue metallic paint and the chrome(Polished) parts. When I get the cable to place pictures from camera to pc I'll be posting them.:fripper: ps I'm also putting in an on off switch for the fuel pump (To many chances for theft) Where can I locate the wire? By the fuse box or run one back to the pump?

You could wire two of them in paralel. Have one obvious and one hidden under the ashtray or behind the seat. Unless they are both on it won't start. You could have another one next to the obvious one that activates the alarm, sets off a teargas grenade and turns on a tazer in the seatback!
