Modified - Won't Idle

First post on this website.
I just installed an L28 on my 260Z. The L28 has and E31 ported cylinder head with L28 valves, flat top pistons, 292 duration, 480 lift camshaft and SU's with SM needles, headers, 2.5 exhaust to a dynomax turbo mufflers, 280z 5 speed transmission, r200 differential, eibach springs, aftermarket sway bars, oil cooler, electric fans; I love this car; but it won't idle below 1.1K RPM's; is this normal with this camshaft?, I has a great lumpy idle-sounds like a v8, but I would like to lower the RPM's at idle, any ideas/opinion on how to do this or what may be going on?

Welcome to ZDriver! :006:

Pick up some free factory service manuals at XenonS30 and other Xenons pages, depending on what you need. The manuals have a lot of easy-to-follow inspection and maintenance pages which might help you.'

Our Z guys will have some input for you so hang around. They show up eventually. Sounds like you took on quite a job there.

Thanks and welcome again! :icon_super:

Did you install stiffer valve springs the stock ones are only good for .460 lift
i have a similar cam with su carbs and i can idle at 500rpm.. But my cam is happy at 900-1000rpm Check initial timing and for vacuum leaks and report back. If the SUs are older i would definitely start with spraying the carb cleaner or propane on the throttle shafts. Good luck and Welcome to ZDriver!
