what do you mean by adjustment? if you have to put the choke cables on, then that's normal.

since i bought this car its been hard to stay idle, can this be my carb or something else? people telling its becuase im not getting enough flow so i have to keep adjusting it but i dont know should i just rebuild my carb and see what happen? or is it time for a new motor?

if you have to spray choke fluid in it, then that's not right. You might want to use some carb cleaner or something, you might have something gummed up in there. A carburetor rebuild is never a bad idea on an older vehicle.

If it runs ok after it starts and starts ok after it warms up then it's your chokes. If you have to spray it every time then it could be your carbs. You should check your timing and make sure your vacuum advance is working. When the vacuum fails, people compensate by advancing the timing. It will sem to run better but it will be harder to start. Unless you have experience with multi carb set ups you shouldn't atempt it with out a book on SUs. Do the ignition a-z first.

You have two, one barrel side draft SU type carbs on a stock 240 Z.

Go to http://ztherapy.com and get their video tapes or DVD on SU carburetors.
