75 280z turns over, wont start
Hi all, got a slight problem with my 280. Keep in mind this is an intermitent problem. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
My Z will always start when it is cold outside (morning) and it seems to not like to when it is warm outside or after driving. It will turn over but not actually fire.....I know, either no spark or no fuel.
Well, I took the #1 spark plug out of the block (keeping it attatched to the plug wire) and put it on a metal surface to see if it was sparking or not. It is NOT. So there is my issue, no spark.
I went to the local junkyard today and bought a coil and a distributor off of another 280, I think another '75. Put those on just now and still will not start. So either that is not my problem or they dont work either. I also tried interchanging the new with the old (old dist., new coil or vise versa) to see if one was bad or not. No go.
Anyone have any ideas as to what to check for? Im at a loss here. All the plugs are fine as well.
Thanxz in advance.

If you are putting the plug and wire out dont. just pull the wire. Also check your wires from the coil back to power. You might want to also make a temporary set up coil wires. Make a positive from the Battery and a Negative. see if that fixes it.
