Engine shipping

Does anybody have any pointers on the best way to get an engine shipped cross country? I need to find the cheapest way. Also what is the weight of an l28e with the manifolds on, oil pan and all the front pullies? Thanks a bunch.

Cheapest is to use a freight, like Reddeyway or some one like that. They are cheaper and dont damage your stuff.

Be sure you crate it up good if you go common carrier. They may be cheaper, but they are not always carefull. When we pack stuff to be shipped common carier at work, we always make sure they have to TRY to damage it.
