Hey Matt,
It all depends on how deap your pockets are and your mechanical knowledge.
You can't beat a well prepped V8 in a Z body . You will have to do the easy rear end swap to the R200 as used in the later Z's . Check out HybridZ They are full of every kind of swap
you can think of.

The L6 is capable of over 400 HP , but you have to go turbo to get it a normally aspirated one is limited to 200's in street trim and a bit over 300HP with an all out race motor.

Most people just buy a 280ZXT that came with a turbo and use that set up as a
start for their project. Search this site and HybridZ for install and mod information.
