EGR stuff, etc.....

Just noticed that I have developed an exhaust leak @ the 90 degree tube/elbow from the Exhaust manifold to the intake, the tube has ruptured at the thread into the manifold, which also coincided with a little bit of rough running with the car. (The tube has since severed completely and I haven't been driving the car.) The problem is getting a replacement tube. I have shopped locally and nobody carries these or can even order these...I was thinking about fabricating a new elbow but was wondering if anybody knew where to get one, new or used? I am assuming that the exhaust leak will affect egr function and hurt performance as well, No? Any help would be appreciated...

Give me the year of your Z and a picture of the part and I will check my spare parts.

Have to dig out my digital camera, if I can find it! This is for a 1978 280Z. The tube is nothing more than a roughly 1/2" OD threaded tube, approximately 12" long with a 90 degree bend 4-6" long that has threaded nuts on both ends..One end screws into the EGR provision in the intake, the other 90 degree bend screws into the exhaust manifold....If you have one that would be great. I don't think it would be too hard to fabricate one- as soon as I know what size the threading is on the tube, a metric fine thread I'm sure...Thanks!

almost forgot....

Oh yeah, and about the EGR and performance- will this affect how the car runs, since this is essentially an exhaust AND vacuum leak? You seem to be very knowledgable about these cars, figured you might have had some experience with these....
