Alternator belt breaking
 

I replaced my alternator belt and then it just snapped again today, now i know it wasn't too tight, i thought it was a little loose. So am i the only one that this happens to? the alternator was replaced by the previous owner so i'm not really sure what the deal is, maybe the new alt. is not lined up with the other pulleys??

Is the belt shredded, or did it just snap? Usually belts don't just break... they wear to the point they are too weak to stay together. If it's new & snaps... you got issues. Check the pullies for rough edges. Also, a belt should be just tight enough to grab it between pullies & roll it almost on it's side (just in the spot you are grabbing).

it snapped, i'm thinking that maybe the water pump is done for but i don't know. I'll check the edges and see.

^ Bad water pump bearings took out the alternator belt on my ZX. Pulley was out of alignment and was wobbling while it was spinning.
