78 280z not accelerating smooth

78 280z stock.

accelerates rough until 3K+ still lacking power.

Timing is set. fuel pressure is good. new coolant temp sender.
new plugs/wires/cap/rotor. compression is 150 in each cyl.

played with adjustment in MAF box. it shifts the power band around a little but still does not accelerate smoothly. pops like it is over fueling.

??

Please explain what "good" is?
-Stock timing is 8* BTDC. The L28 really likes 15* BTDC.
-Stock fuel pressure is 30-35psi.
-As for the coolant temp sender, hoping you mean the square connector 2-prong:

-If you suspect it's running too rich, pull and read / compare spark plug tips. If one plug looks different than the rest, you know there's a problem in that cylinder. If they are all black / wet with fuel then either the AFM or Coolant Temp Sensor isn't working properly.
