71 240Z Partial throttle misfire.
So here's the story. While under partial throttle I am noticing a terrible miss, usually happening at low revs (<3000) and only when the engine is at operating temperature. Almost feels like I am running out of fuel however when I fully open the throttle it goes away almost instantly. Any Ideas?

Is this dual point or single point system you have.? If dual are both sets of points gaps still matching ? Have your points moved from where you set them up?
Vacuum leak on or near the intake manifold fitting/ hoses? I would run the car in a dark garage and check the dist cap for cracks by looking for flash/ light visble to the outside. Chk the coil/ dist cap and all spark plug wire connections. Does the ballast have a crack in it? Replace it if req'd. Good luck with this. |
Problem Solved. So apparently I have neglected my ignition system and my points gap was only .012 which in-turn fried my Accel E-Coil that was less than 6 mos old. Luckily, I work at a local parts house and picked up a Flamethrower coil, a set of Accel spiral core 8mm wires and a new set of NGK plugs for $60. Swapped it all out at lunch today and the car runs amazing, she has a willingness to rev that I have never felt before. Pulls hard in 4th from 1200 Rpm with no complaints.
