260zt Final wiring
 

Okay, I am finally gonna finish the 260zt. I have questions though. What color is the wire that runs the temp gauge? On the engine side, also what color is the wire to the tach?

I would like to get these hooked up before Saturday`s auto x. I think I will be running it. So anyone wanna answer my ??

I can get pictures on temp/oil.

Don't know about the tach, mine doesn't work but I'm fixing that this weekend as well as putting my boost gauge inside my clock housing.

http://www.xenons30.com/reference.html i cant remember off my head what color they where. the mod for doing the boost in clock is very easy. i gutted mine slapped in. very clean and simple. i can dig up a pic if ya needed.

just follow the wire back from the negative side of your ignition coil.

doesn't work as I dont have it hooked up.... Thats why I need to know what color so I can add the resistor and hook it up. Brighter note. Just got the new suspension parts on, also managed to pick up a set of tokico springs a guy had laying around. So, energy suspension+tokico+kyb strut cartridges+ 10 pounds boost= AWESOME! Am very happy, now I am gonna go drive.

Ok I got the tach figured out. Nice to have one of those again. Also, I need a turbo clutch/flywheel. If anyone can help me out with a decent pick and pull, our scrap yards here have no z cars. If its cheap enough I`ll take it, or maybe we could work out trade for parts off the 82 turbo car.

pshh... just go upgraded. light weight fidanza and a centerforce II or ACT clutch.

ok wasn't my clutch slipping, was my pov opening. Sure feels like a slipping clutch. anyways, I figured out what was wrong, namely I bought a $4 mbc off ebay that totally failed. wasn't letting my waste gate function. Was slapping full boost. Good thing I kept the pov. Anyways fixed it with some modification and now works fantastic. Solid 9 pounds peaking at 11. FAST FAST FAST. Now I need a 5 speed transmission.

Dude... electronic boost controller time. Sure they are $150-$300 ... but they are worth every penny.

Nah after the modifications this one works just fine, no surge and still in cabin.

Will get some up tomorrow. Its dirty though, you`ve been warned. Went and played in the rain. Well the aftermath, wet roads+boost= fun.

thanks, interior is my next major project, sheet metal dash and door panels, removing all carpet and interior panels. Gonna rhino line the floors and install a roll cage. Then this winter I will be fixing the body damage and getting it ready to paint next summer. I am thinking a flat black with a flattened clear coat. No gloss, and sometime soon I want to go with a good HID healight kit.

Also if anyone has a turn signal switch for sale, pm me. Turn signals would be very nice to have.

i had one... sent it with my 260 to ray..... i can look for another one though idk if i have one or not. also, that grill mesh stuff looks like dookey... get rid of it. other wise, good work and yeah time to start prettying her up

i thought have a manual boost controller with that much hose caused problems if i recall. why people kept them in the engine bay.

yup ^^^^ it does. i think improper boost settings were hard to keep and also more spikes.

figured it was something along those lines. i remember on my manual for my boost controller it said no more then 3-5 inch or something of that line.

this one seems to work ok. I dont get spikes or anything, its differnt though, it shipped with a t that has a spring nd bll bearing in it. the in cabin controller just adjust the leak. It seems to be just fine so far.

I was helping my mom out. I had my car at her house. I had her pick up moving shit. When I came back my car was dead. I was like wierd.

So I throw in a good battery and try to start it. It wont start. I check things.

Long story short, my unsupervised 6 year old brother, was playing in my car. Cranking it over without the ecu being on. Now I need a new CAS. I am gonna kill someone, but I need a new CAS> 82,82 turbo anyone help me out?

wow.... why would she let him play in it? thats definitely not cool.... are you sure he didnt just fry some wires? i dont see how cranking the car with the ECU off would kill a CAS. plus, dont you have the one i sent you?

thats the one that fried. i am sure. i am also sure it was working when i parked it.

Ok, robbed the parts 280zxt for it distributor and slapped it in. Fired right up. Anyways cranking the car with power to the distributor and not the ecu will fry them. Thats what I gather anyways as that is what happened. I think its a resistor issue. See also I burned up the whole electrical system running an 81 ecu with the 83 wiring harness. Just an educated guess. All the same working now, and I got 304.99 from mom. The price of a new distributor.
