When I did that, I also left the parking brake cables attached to the hubs but unbolted the rubber holders for the lines further in near the middle of the car. This allows the arms to swing down enough to barely clear the fenders.

Those lower bushings are nearly impossible to remove. When I asked about them, some say torch them out (burn/melt) or take the whole assembly to a machine shop. Not good.
