new wheels and tires

1 Attachment(s)
15 inch American Racing Ansen Sprint Mags and Kumho Ecsta ASX tires. Clears the Modern Motorsport rear disc brakes just fine. One more "To Do" item off of the list...

Oops, that's kind of important; I should've put that in the original post. 7" wheels, 205 60 15 tires. The wheels are true zero offset, no adapters necessary, and the outside edge is pretty much dead even with the outer lip of the fender.
thanks!

Thanks! With the new aluminum driveshaft, I guess I was technically able to "drive" the car in that I can move it in and out of the garage under it's own power. Of course, the throttle linkage isn't right so I have to feather the clutch with 1st gear, and the only brake is the parking brake, and I still don't have seats. But it's still a step forward, and a big one in that I don't have to push it by myself any more! Can't wait to actually go for a drive!

tentative date for the z club track day at HPR is beginning of June. Have it on the road by then and we can "race" ;-)

Nice! I can't wait! I just got an email from Modern Motorsport that they're shipping my front brake kit today, and I picked up the calipers last week. All that's left is seats/harnesses and a couple of small pieces (like bumper ends, etc.). I'll definitely have it ready by then! Hopefully more like around Thanksgiving.

FYI for those looking at either these wheels or the Modern Motorsports front brake kit. The late 80's/early 90's equal-sized 4 piston Toyota calipers (S12W) are just a bit too big to clear the wheels, even with some angle grinder and file "customization" work.

I'm going to pick up a pair of the S12+8 calipers ('86 to '88 Toyota 4x4 pickup) today and see how that works. They're supposed to be a bit smaller, lighter, and more forgiving with clearance, as well as working a little better with the stock '78 master cylinder. I will try to get notes and pics to post here, if I can. The early sunset time is killing my car-work photos.
