Brakes failing after rebuild
 

I searched the forums and didn't find anything. I rebuilt the front brakes recently with new calipers and pads. I bled the calipers pretty thoroughly, however I just took it for a test drive and there was no brake pressure. I had to yank the ebrake to stop at a stop sign. I can pump the brake and build up some pressure but as soon as I'm done braking, the pressure goes away and the pedal goes to the floor. A vaccum hose to the booster was loose so I tightened it but still had the same problem.

Is this a problem with the brake booster? I see bleeders on the master cylinder, should I have bled from there too? There are no line leaks.

sounds like your master cylinder is going out.. if it were your brake booster, your pedal would feel really hard....

You didn't bleed the master? I suggest starting with that. :D

I talked to my dad and he was thinking we might have introduced air into the line. We both looked up on two different occasions and the front reservoir was empty. We'll bleed them, starting with the master, and see how that works. If it doesn't fix it then I guess I get a new master cylinder! Thanks for the replies.

Found the problem. 2 left brake calipers! Thanks oreilly! I have to go in tomorrow to meet with the manager to see if he'll take one back even though it's painted blue. They have good customer service at this location so I think it'll work out ok.
