nice i finnaly found out after lots of dirty oil cleaning on the shock tower. i found some sort of screw that was attached to the tower as well as the shock. it was so simple :P and for some reason nothing SHOT OT to the sky like it is said on the website that was given to me. THANKS TOUGH.. MISSION SOLVED now.... instead of STARTING a new post. let me just ask a new question
What are the best shocks for the 240z i hear and see TOKIKO alot. but it seems over rated. but i am not shure. oh by the wya TOKIKO is the brand of shocks i have on my car buyt they seem worn out. their really loose. maybe that would explain the knocking noise i hear when i hit a bump or a hole. so agai.. what are the best shocks for 240s? OVERALL! for turning. and stability as well as long time longivility. |
The reason your springs didn't fly off is because they are the shorter Tokiko lowering springs. The brakes you have are from a '79-'81 280ZX.

siick siick thanks :) so if ever i need brake pads i ask fr the Zx's and all that sounds cool. and yeha i got the springs :) haha

When you add the new struts also add bump stops. They fit on the shaft of the strut . When I changed the springs and struts all around I added the stops front and rear. I really recommend them. Energy Suspension has what you need. In fact if you went to your Nissan Dealer this is the same thing they sell as the OEM stops are no longer available. Enjoy the ride. Gary

^^^^ Gary is right, without the bump stops the shocks will blow out when they bottom. You also need boots on the shock rods.
ps while you got all that apart do the urethane bushings and you will be much happier. |
