seatsbelts

what's the best way to upgrade from 240z lapbelts to shoulder harness? where do the later model shoulder harnesses mount? is there a better, easier, or more cost effective upgrade from another car or aftermarket item. i have just purchased this car after a long hunt and love it. i do need to change out these belts though. i feel like i'm riding my motorcycle without my helmet! any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks.

If you want you can use the seat belts out of a 280Z. They mount the shoulder strap on the top of the rear strut, the lap mounts the same as your 240. I did this conversion once on my 240 back in the mid 80,s.

Good Luck

It is a retractible setup. The retractible part mounts over the strut towers. Be sure to get the covers also that go over the retractible parton top of the strut.

Ive got the 280z belt setup also..if you look at this pic, look at the hatch hinges, then down.. youll see a black retractable seatbelt box. sorry the pic wasnt intended to show the belts when i took it.

I bought mine at Motorsports: https://www.thezstore.com/product/58...ide-70-73-240z
These also fit a 260Z, at least an early build one (1/74) like mine
