eletrical stuff....help

hi, any of you guys ever placed central door locking in a 240z? This is because I wanna get rid of the locks on the doors, just keep de handles. Anyone has done this? How about electrical windows.

Tks!

victoria british

i know that victoria british sells a kit to do power windows and another kit to do power locks. for ten bucks more you can get the power locks with a remote so you can look cool walking up to your thirty year old car and make it go *beep* to unlock :- )

both kits are under a hundred bucks, (each) i think.

Well, door locks can be done fairly easy, to do it pretty you need to pull the doors off the car...the 240z was NOT designed for any wiring to go from the chassis to the door. so pulling off the doors is so you can create a nice clean "boot" passageway for your wiring to go from the end of the door to the doorframe area around where your domelight pin switch is. I hope you dont plan on doing some kinda cheap looking "under the door panel across to the kick panel routing." it looks terrible like that.

The kits that victoria british sells are generic kits that come with various sized parts to adapt to most all cars...ive installed several of these type kits...they seem to work fine. do a search for power windows & doors..you might find em cheaper elsewhere. if you want high quality buy from electric life. the link is below. they build pretty nice stuff. also, are you sure you want "central" locks..? the reason I ask is, central locks, will have 5 wires coming out of the door..standard power locks only need 2 wires. then you have your windows wires too. a consideration when you are going to be drilling in the chassis of a car...ohh make sure you clean out (file/sand) the holes you make well..you are going to have power running thru there whenever the key is on..for the windows...and you dont want that wire shorting out on your rough drilled hole. also where were you going to put the switches for all this>? in the doors? I ended up running mine to the center console area.

good luck hmmm your probably already done.
if not feel free to email me, ive been doing automotive aftermarket stuff for 15 years.
