The Economy Poll

How are you doing with the current fall of our great nation's economy?
I am looking for another job, and taking on part time wrenching jobs around the neighborhood.
I have lost hours at work. I am now making less than half of what I did at my hire date a year and a half ago.
Copper is dropping in price, and there are hiring freezes at the mines in AZ. I work on the giant haul trucks, and other heavy equipment found in mines.

Sold my truck, with about $7k in the Windsor engine itself.

Getting ready to sell my motorcycle. That would personally kill me.

Things are rough, and I think they are going to get worse before they get better. Just curious how this is effecting the rest of the Z community we have here.

Housing prices are down but I plan to buy AND sell. Its easy to get cheap foreclosures but the lenders are getting really stingy with their money.

I'm afraid renters are more likely to loose their job and face eviction in today's economy.

The Z is up for sale! Baby forces sale!!! lol j/k

Until the market melt down this past month, foreclosures were being auctioned off @ 50% value here. Now the banks won't auction them because they are waiting for the government money... no more cheap houses here...

I am at work right now on "standby".. Been sweeping floors all night.
Most of the techs got sent home, and I am here on standby. My hours are going to be so low, that I am going to have to take out a loan to pay my bills. Looking for another job, but copper mines are doing bad with the drop in copper, and there are hiring freezes at the mines in AZ. Damn...
I am actually worried that the company I work for is going to lay me off soon. Or at least most of the mechanics I work with.
If anyone know's of a good paying heavy equipment or diesel mechanic position, lemme know. lol
Even in another country. I am young single, and don't mind something new.
Hope things turn around fast.
The mines are expecting the next two years to be real lean.

What is, "Baby forces Sale!"?
How did that become a poll option? I didn't enter that.

Funny your should say that...
I have been thinking heavily on it. I was wanting to see what happened when the election process calms down. But, I might not get to wait that long.

trust me, now is the time to join, we are getting almost all new equipment, the army is testing new weapons to become standard and who else will pay for just about everything you need to live? yeah, take the asvab test and go from there, just stay out of infantry and engineering jobs and you will be ok. try and get a technical job as much as possible. that and drop my name (forrest hoover last 4 4161) when the ask did anyone recommend you, as i get $2k when you finish basic and AIT and i believe you get some money as well.

Dude, the Air Force is the best way to go, better food, better living conditions, and there's no such thing as an infantry in the Air Force.

Yeah I'm in the military so this hasn't affecting me at all, and that includes my bank going bankrupt and bought out.

My father's bank also got bought out and for some reason he hasn't lost any of his investments; but that's probably because he invests low-risk.

I have no sympathy for people who lost their high-risk investments and I don't think the government should help them out.

What is this baby forces sale, what does it have to do with the economy, and how did it get added to the poll options when I did not put it in there to start with? I don't get it. Did I miss something?

Things are better than ever. Don't believe everything you hear from the 'experts' because most of those so-called 'experts' don't know their *** from a hole in the ground. If anyone watches the today show, then you can probably relate to this....I would love nothing more than to punch Suze Orman in the face....she's a f*cking moron. If you want to f*ck up your credit and your finances, then listen to her.

Yeah... Things are better than ever..
That explains why I got laid off. Thank you for clarifying. haha

Things may be better in some areas. What are those areas? I am not seeing it in my neck of the woods.

Guess I'm lucky, things are so busy in the retirement/nursing home industry we had to hire a new guy and since I'm not salary I can work as much overtime as I can handle. Now that my student loans are consolidated I think I can afford the fuel tank finally. Maybe, I'll even have the Z running before the year is out.

I'm working on an investment property in this awesome down market!

Buy when everyone is selling...

Sell when everyone is buying...
