Cannot get stains off my wheels!!

Hello everyone, I just bought a G35 coupe last week and I'm new to ZDRIVER. The wheels on the G have what look to be brake dust on them, but its anything but brake dust. I have tried everything from mild detergent to a rubbing compound to get these stains off. I am worried that if I use too harsh of chemicals I will ruin the finish on the wheels. If anyone has any insight on this please help me out.

Brandon

Welcome to ZDriver!

Are these stock wheels? Chrome? Painted?

Stock rims. I believe they are alloy and have a clear coat finish.

Im pretty good at detailing, so if you can post a pic that would let me help you. By the way my name is Brandon as well. Megaiuar's products usually work the best. My 1985 300zx had stains on the rims as well, I used a microfiber towel and put motor degreser on the towel, and just rubbed on the stain and came off.

My sister had brake dust caked on like that on some alloys on her HonDUH.
I soaked them (off the car) in this stuff

Let the clearner set on the wheels for 2 hours and then the stuff just washed right off. Same type of wheel. Clearcoat over alloy.

The wheels are soaking in Meguiars All Wheel Cleaner as we speak. I have heard a little bit about P21S wheel gel. Anyone ever used this stuff before?

This is what the stains look like, I have also tried a clay bar from someone else's advice. Did not work either. lol.

I know this is like a week old, but purple power is the best non corrosive cleaner I have ever used. it also removes brake dust and grease like nothing.
