help, brake light problems...

here is my problem. the brake lights on my car seem to want to work only when it is nice and dry out. it rained here last day or two and the lights are not working properly.

picture #1 is the showing the small brake light switch disconnected. sometimes when you reconnect it and wiggle the wires then you can get it to work. when it is disconnected the rear light except the blinkers are dead. right now when it is plugged in then only the 3rd break light works (picture #2)

this has happened before and i unplugged the switch and let it dry out in the house for a few days and then when i reconnected it the lights worked normal again. does it sound like a problem with the wiring or with the switch getting moisture in it and shorting itself out. if so what can i do to fix my problem. sorry for the long post. thanks!

You need to locate the source of the leak and neutralize it. Keeping them dry seems to be the priority since they only seem to work in that condition.
