Just started a new project Z

Actually, the LS is narrower than the 3.0! But with one extra cylinder on each bank, it is longer front to back. I am going to take some measurements and do some test fits. Electric fans could save me an inch or two.

For the HP level this motor is capable of, it needs a massive fuel supply. The stock dual-sump tank and the complicated stock pump and transfer setup is not going to work.
I removed the stock fuel system and am putting a 15 gallon cell in where the spare tire used to go .

I've been a slacker posting progress
Here is what I have been doing:
I removed the entire factory fuel system, re plumbed the car with 1/2 inch SS line, and installed the fuel pump and regulator, and return line. Remember this beast will be carbureted.
I also welded in a steel partition right where the hatch glass ends. It looks black in the pic because I covered the "trunk" area with some liquid bedliner I had from an old project.

To make this swap even MORE COMPLICATED - I am doing an auto to manual swap. I have the pedal assembly and the clutch master installed, and I picked up a 90-96 Nissan 5 speed tranny. I also got a slave cylinder and think I have the plumbing all set.
I had to cut down the brake pedal for the clutch pedal to clear.

I'm working on fabricating some motor mounts and a trans mount. This is an extreme budget build, I cant be dumping thousands into this thing.
I had to shell out $500 for this LOJ (Lion of Judah) flywheel - it helps with the GM LS to Nissan tranny issue:

Tenna...Wow that's some great progress, really cool. I know sometimes it happens, but please don't run out of funds and not finish and part everything out haha. Paint looks good, are you doing the roller thing, or what are you spraying with?

Is that a carburetor? I feel like an EFI conversion would lower the overall profile enough to get away with the stock hood, but cool man. I've played around with the thought of a smooth reverse hood scoop on a Z32, it could be pretty nice actually. Just add some height to the current "bump" and open it up at the windshield.

Just throwing this out there: I appreciate good fabrication work, but the fuel setup out of a stock Twin Turbo (i.e. replace the pump and pump computer with some used parts) would absolutely flow enough fuel for your motor and would've saved your hatch usability. The stock TT pump is hugely capable.

Thanks for the input, however when I disassembled the fuel system I discovered that the tiny fuel lines and a fairly complex transfer setup with the two sumps was just so far from my needs.
The new engine needs low PSI and high volume and felt the Nissan system was the opposite of this.
