Electrical Problems (alternator died twice)
1990 auto na.
I've had two alternators go bad, each time the car tried to die while driving at night (headlights, heat, and radio all on) the only way I could keep it from dying was turning off the headlights and one other system. ABS light comes on and lights dim, rpms drop, heater fan slows & radio turns off. If I am stopped, rpms fall so far the car stalls. I have checked fuses, and completely unplugged stereo amp and radio right after replacing the alternator the first time, so a hacked wiring job there is not the issue. I have noticed that there is aftermarket wiring to the injectors. How would I go about testing it? That is the only wiring I can find (other than sound system) that is not stock. Where is common for faulty wiring causing a drain? Any advise is appreciated!

#1: Where are you getting these alternators from? Parts store alternators have a high failure rate... Autozone / O'Reilly's love to rebuild as cheaply as possible.
#2: Have you done a battery / alternator load test?
