Auto engine modifications to fit Manual transmission

Hi there im new to Zdriver, I'v been researching this topic; however, have not found any answers to my questions.

I'v had my z32 for about a year and a half now, although i love the car Iv been running into quite a few problems. The car was originally a 1990 NA 2+2 z32, however, when i bought it the owner had swapped a vg30dett into it. Overall the car was able to run but quite poorly, i bought the car with no power steering, no cats, oil/ fuel leaks and a month later the turbos blew out. I finally decided to purchase a different vg30dett to install, and to build up the one i currently have in the car. I bought a 1993 vg30dett which sounded great when it was in the previous car. The engine is from an automatic z32.

I was wondering what type of changes i would have to make to the auto vg i just purchased for it to run properly in my manual transmission z32? The owner mentioned something about taking out a piece from the rear of the crankshaft as well as replacing the o-ring which goes around it. Also my buddy mentioned that there might be a problem with the harmonic balancer and camshaft differences. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not too sure about the harmonic balancer but if your car is already a manual trans just look at both harmonic balancers. If you are still unsure just put your old one on your new motor. As far as the rear stuff your friends are talking about, you have to take off the flex plate that is on the new motor and put on YOUR flywheel and clutch assy. the o-ring he is talking about is the rear crankshaft seal. its not so much that you ave to as muc as preventative maintenance. You wouldn't want that to leak after you put the trans on it and put it in the car, than you have to take the trans off to fix the leak so take car of it now even if it isn't leaking. While you are at it put in a new front crank seal as we. wheck the new motor over, since its used, and take the time to fix any oil leaks now while the motor is out of the car for ease of replacing things.

The peice at the back your friend mentions is an allignment bushing the auto tranny used. It must be removed or the manual trans wont slide in. Its a large bushing pressed into the rear of the crank. It sits where the 5-speed pilot bushing would go but is much marger. It actually sticks out of the crank a bit.

Appreciate the help. What would be the best way to go about taking out the bushing? I was also planning on changing the vacuum lines, fuel lines, oil pan gasket, cleaning the idle valve, and getting t-clamps for the lines. Any recommendations on any other affordable processes i could do to help the engine run more efficiently and without future problems? Also, does anyone know of a good website i could go to too find good quality vacuum and fuel lines?
