Gap in steering

Hey guys I have a 1992 z32 N/A and when I'm driving there is about a 10 degree gap in the steering when I'm turning either left or right. The power steering pump is leaking a bit too. -__- Just got a new pump and passenger side rack and pinion. What can be causing the wheel gap?

I think I've got about a +/- 3° "dead space" in my steering. How accurately did you measure it? And I guess it could really be all of that causing the issue but don't take my word for it!
Oh and did you mean a total of 10° or in both directions? Meaning a total of 20°.

thanks guys I found out what the problem was, the rack and pinion bushings were really old. I change them, now a new problem. Leaking hose, time to find out where its coming from
