New To Me Z31
Hello all new to the forum. Got me a project but already getting stumped.. it's an 87 z31 na. I got a really good deal on it. I believe I can get it driving for fairly cheap.. I hope. Anyways it's getting fuel for sure. It's definitely getting air. So that left spark. Which I know know it's getting though it will just turn over and turn over and never fire. This is my first z car and thought maybe y'all might know something I don't on this vg30e motor. I wouldn't think a simple vacuum leak or sensor would cause it not to attempt to fire on any cylinder.. what then again what do I know. Any suggestions?

How do you know it's getting spark? All 6 plugs are getting spark?
If it truly is getting proper fuel and spark, then either the timing is way off, or the CHTS and/or MAF sensors have problems... I suggest checking timing and those sensors.
And pulling the ecu diagnostic codes will quickly tell you if there is a sensor problem.

Well I disconnected the fuel line at the rail and it sprayed fuel out upon Key to on position. I don't know if the fuel pressure is optimal. I assume the injectors are working. But can't confirm with my limited resources. What are injectors pulsing? Comes from disty right? But it's definitely getting fuel. I pulled spark plug 1 and 4 and they both shocked the crap out of me and arced to screwdrivers. And the plugs and looked ok not fouled or burned. Distributor looks good on the outside though I need to confirm that the rotor is spinning inside. What about timing belt? I need to verify its intact. Also thanks for the reply

Here's what I would do:
If it's getting fuel, air and all essential systems are working, then I'd be willing to bet that it's just caught (combination of dried oil and soot gumming up the works). Hook up a crank turning socket and breaker bar to the harmonic balancer on the engine and crank those pistons by hand.
If it offers resistance but ultimately breaks loose, then I'd say that it's taken care of.
Did that with mine, worked like a charm.

How long had it been sitting?
might be good it doesnt start ,how is it oiling ( it can be hard to know if every bearing s oiled). If the pump is dry , it can seize a bearing in an instant I would do a compression test , slow valves a possiblity if sitting for years
