starting to get warmer, my z loves it.

was driving 88 z31 around from work and i notice an odd noise. at a low rpm, full throttle would make a really distinct rattling noise. it could almost be attributed to the sound a loose exhaust but thats impossible since its all rusted together nice and tight. from what i gathered it sounds more on the right side but that was where most of the stuff that reflected noise was so it could be biased.

before i lift the car and separate stuff, any ideas? i plan on changing chts pretty soon due to enrichment issue and sounding like a floppy truck as well as changing exhaust from manifold (or maybe manifold as well) back.

if it does it at idle ,try putting it on a drive-on lift with it running to find it 1st
muffler baffle ? heat shield ?
also there is the electronic steathascope tool

ill give the heat sheild a look and check everything. it sounds like its from the engine though, but replacing the catback exhaust soon and cat soon after to see if anything happens. thanks, ill also see about that electronic stethoscope
