84T AE won't Start
Hi guys,
So i was driving my Z about a week ago, and as i rolled up to a light, the car just died on me. Tried to jump it, no help. So i took it to my mechanic friend, he tried charging it and jumping it, also didn't help. He then thought it might be the distributor, so i got one from a junk yard, and that didn't help. He now thinks its something electrical.
I've asked around and looked around, and think it could be either the crank angle sensor (CAS), the MAF or the coil pack.
Basically, when he charged it and tried to start it, all the electricals work, and the it sounds like its trying to start, but it wont turn over. The revs on my digidash go up a bit, but as soon as i stop cranking it, it just dies.
Any answers?
Thanks

I am NOT the final word here..but in my experience sounds like the MAF. I pulled up to the gas pump one day..filled and could not get it to start for anything..from alive to DEAD just like that! I may add there were no symptoms or hints leading up to this. Switching the MAF did the trick.

Wont turn over ?
Turning over, is when you hit the starter and the engines turns over, and over until it starts or you release the key, I am assuming you meant it isn't starting, but just turns over. Did you check all your fusible links, they can look good and be burned through, and not work, you need to check them, unplug and check all your connectors, ecu, maf, tps, etc, check for corrosion. Unplug the harness going into the fuse box and re-seat it, check all your fuses. Do you have spark ?
Fuel pressure ?
Good luck in tracking it down
