You will have to switch out the hubs from the 87-89. But if you do this you can not only switch the brakes you could swap Z32 TT front brake calipers on.

Do i have to switch the hubs even if the 86's hub studs are 5x114.3??

Err you will have caliper issues. The calipers fit around much smaller rotors in the rear putting the front back there wouldn't even fit. It won't work. If you want to see a brake set up me and johnZboy have exactly the same brakes here are mine http://dev.zdriver.com/gallery/showg...&what=&name=&= (at the bottom of the page) There are a few pictures of my brakes. They consist of KVR Carbon Fibre brake pads, Brembo Cross Drilled rotors, Goodridge Stainless steel braklines, and while I was at it I rebuilt all of the Calipers and put in some really good brake fluid after draining out all the old fluid. I decided not to go with the Z32 TT front calipers at the time since my tires seem to be at the max limit for my braking and the hub conversion. Let me say though this set up is crazy my Turbo can really brake now.
