I think my axle broke?

Ok i thought ive been having a driveshaft u joint problem with the squeaking but i think thats changed.. I was driving a few hrs ago and all of a sudden the squeaking coming from inside of the rear left wheel started getting worse in a split second. All of a sudden I hear a clunk kinda noise and now I cant drive it.. The back left wheel is wobbiling back and forth making an eerie crunch noise.. really doesnt sound good. If i would of driven it more, i think the wheel would fall off.. So, i take my hands 12 o clock and 6 o clock and wiggle the wheel back and forth. The whole friggin back side of the car wobbles back and forth.. its really loose.. im thinking its an axle? Hope the details help.

One broken stud wouldn't cause the wheel to wobble (maybe on the freeway), because there are 3 to 4 other lugs still holding the wheel tight. Maybe they were all loose?

Science is "mind bottling" sometimes.

Actually nismo, I had a nasty repetitive clunk coming from my passenger footwell for about 3 days before I found out 2 of the lugs were loose on the passenger wheel. I had even jacked the car up to check the bearings, nothing was bad, but the noise would always return at speed.

I felt stupid.

110 ft lbs torque on a wrench will cure that.

Yes... two, not one.

I have purposely driven a 4lug car with ONE lug on, and THREE off... the one was tight, made a little noise, but held firm.

That just sounds scary.

Sorry if my last post seemed "corrective" I just wanted to share an experience. Things I think and things I type never quite sound the same :/

Yeah atleast 3-5 lug nuts were loose Nismo. It solved my problem and i actually have nothing wrong with the car now.. Fun times trying to catch up and buying new parts.. but my steering wheels still shakes very little accelerating after a new drivers side wheel bearing and outer tie rod ends. Before i spend anymore money, i'm gonna try getting my wheels balanced. other than that, the car runs strong for 260k miles. :P

It's amazing what happens when you actually LOOK AT YOUR CAR BEFORE RUNNING TO AN INTERNET FORUM to ask a stupid question, isn't it.
