I have an 86 NA z and I recently replaced the stock coil springs with Eibach Pro Kit progressive rate springs. My problem is that when I turn the wheels completely in place the springs seem to groan and move in their seats. Also when I drive and hit a decent pot hole or bump the springs rattle in place. The front shocks are completely gone (need to be replaced) and there are no spring seats. Did I seat the springs wrong or are my bad shocks and lack of spring seats the problem?

I looked I my springs tonight (Yes I braved the cold to do it). I found out that the when I turn the steering wheel the upper spring seat (the metal piece) rubs the inside of the car body. The springs are seated correctly and don't shift at all. I'm not sure if this is due to the change from OEM springs to Eibach but its happening. As for the rattling thats probably the shocks causing that.
