t/b swap

t/b swap
Im current doing a complete engine rebuild and would like to upgrade my throttle body. I would like to know the best motor to source one from. Im looking to go to 60mm, i know i can find one on a stanza, or an 80mm that would be compatible. The thing is i see that every one has wire throttle linkage, is it possible to swap one of these in but keep my stock throttle linkage? I will also deffinetly be port matching. Any input on the subject would be great. Thank you

You want the tb from a KA24E / KA24DE / SR20DE. The KA24 has a cable throttle linkage that requires modification to work with the L28 throttle linkage. The SR20DE tb is already set up with linkage, just needs to be flipped. We've discussed the 60mm throttle body swap to death, so feel free to search if you need more info.
And remember that just adding a larger tb to the intake will do nothing but waste your time and $$$. You need to port the intake neck and use the turbo afm body to get rid of the bottlenecks
As for the water in the head... has the motor sat for a long time? Does it have any mechanical problems?

Missing coolent? Fuel in the rad? Oil in the rad? Fuel in the oil? Water in the oil pan? There will be a mixing going on somewhere and your oil pressure gauge will be acting like its on crack. . . . Just did my engine swap over a bad head gasket . . . . And the car WILL be undrivable 5 miles tops before all water is lost and well the smoke will kill you by then

I had the 60mm on my car and I regretted it.
everything past about 75% of throttle did absolutely nothing. unless you do some serious work on the inside of the intake manifold, it just isn't worth it.
I had considered going back to stock TB, but just ended up swapping to carbs lol

it could be condensation in the valve cover, if you don't drive your car long enough to boil away that water it could build up, eventually causing sludge oil, which just means you should change your oil more often.

The car has sat for two years now, As far mechanical problems the issue i have is that the car has zero throttle response, After putsin around for a while i finally got the car to idle properly but still no rev when push down on the throttle linkage.
