New to the site
Hello everyone! I am new to the site but I have been on another forum for a while, but its not for Datsuns. Anyways I have been reading and researching for a while and my build/project is already underway. I am swapping a rb25det into my 280zx with s13 coilovers, new stronger front and rear sway bars, rear strut brace, front strut bar, racing seats with 4 point harness, fresh uncracked used dash, urethane body kit, zg flares, new wheels and tires of course and probably rebuild the diff and possibly swap axels. Any who Ill have some questions for everyone, as to brake calipers if its an actual upgrade to try and put z32 calipers on? Also most of the interior is stripped or not there and i dont even know where to start to try and look for replacement parts for it. Also are there still any fiberglass hoods out there for the ZXs? I appreciate all the help ill try and upload/document more as i go on.

Welcome to ZDriver!
Great project!. Our 280 guys will have some input for you. You don't mention your year, model, etc. So, do everyone a favor. Sign in, go to User CP menu (upper left), click Edit Signature and add your Z model, year, shifter, turbo or NA, etc. Saves you having to add it to every post. (Guys here go crazy if you don't lock your Q to your specific Z every time you post...They just ignore questions without enough info) Then click Edit Avatar and add a little Z pic under your nick. Cool? You are solid here.
Maybe your caliper upgrade question can be answered by checking your factory service manuals and fiches at XenonS130 - S130 Reference and XenonZ32.com Reference
I would like to know your technique for getting your Z to stick vertically to the wall like that. If I could do that, I could compound my paint easier and get some good work done on my T-tops. So, what's the trick? But if you don't want to give it out, no problem.
Thanks and welcome again! Look forward to some great posts and updates!

Haha its actually just the picture, for some reason when I upload onto here it rotates the picture vertically, dont know why but it did with mine? It would make life a lot easier to paint and to T top work though! And ill update the other parts of my profile now too.

Thanks NismoPick. After rereading some of the posts off of hybridz and other places I forgot that switching to the z32 calipers is actually a down grade (at least in the rears not 100% sure on fronts). Even though it is a dual piston caliper it covers a smaller surface area, creating less brake force. :/ wah wah wahhh lol ill just retune the stock ones and get some high quality pads and I should be fine. Plus that's a lot less work lol.

Z32 front calipers are 4-piston. Not only are you multiplying the clamping force by 4, but you also need bigger rotors which help the clamping force as well. Think about sticking your finger in the spokes of a spinning bike tire near the hub vs farther out or on the tire... one will take a finger off, the other will slow the tire very fast without taking off your finger.
