Heater core removal.

Do you really need to remove the blower unit and cooling unit to change out the heater core? My book is telling me to but I haven't done a heater core before, it seem like alittle much but i could be wrong. It also shows the dash still in the car, wouldn't it be easier to take it out?

It would be easier with the dash out and you do need to remove the blowers.

Oh i know how to remove the dash, its pretty easy ive done it by myself... I just haven't done the heater core part. I just didn't want to have to take the blower out too, but looks like I have to, lucky me.

You dont have to take the blower out if you pull the dash and remove the cross bar.

Guess the question I should ask, Is it better/easier to take the crossmember out rather than the heater and a/c unit?

The cross member is 10 bolts so I'd think it would be easier, because once you have the dash out its right there.
