280zx what do you think it is worth
if i did get the car and a v8 engine and some how i get around the emmissions test what kind of speed would i be able to get in a 1/4 mile and this car has been sitting a good 4 years that i know of so it is going to need a bit of work any tips? and the body is not in to bad of shape so what do you think would be a good price to offer him it has some rust the hood is proped up a little bit other than that it is pretty good well it will do until i get more money

if you pay more than $1500 your getting ripped off, thats if it runs. you said it's been siiting for a few years so i'd be suprised if you got it running with no work. As for the 1/4 mile times it all depends on what kind of motor and chassis tuning you've got. Check out www.hybridz.com

Ya, you can get any quater mile time down to about 8 seconds depending on how much time and money you put into it!
With a Twin Turbo V8 you'll be running in the 10s without even trying. You can crank out 1200hp if you do try. The problem will be keeping the car from going airborne! :-)
Just a plain stock suspension and interrior 280ZX with a Chevy 350 in it and a 3-speed auto only gets a low 14 or high 13 second quarter mile time. Same as a mildly built 240Z with a factory engine. So you'll still need to do some weight reduction and engine work to get really good times.
