Z in HUMMING?

Zers - I was wondering if anyone knew what a humming sound coming from the rear cargo area might be? at first I thought it was the antenna trying to go up but I have since removed but still hear the humming. Any ideas? Also, my RPM gauge went out after I changed the battery, any ideas on that? Thanks!

Fuel pump on the humming.
As far as the tach not working after changing the battery goes, might have been a voltage spike. Might not. All you did was change the battery? If so then I'd check to see if the tach is getting it's signal. If it's getting a signal and alls well in the wiring department then the tach would need to be replaced. But I'd check the wiring first.

I think its an angry mob of bees in the spare tire well.

or a working fuel pump that will always make noise. Aftermarket pumps are generally louder.

Do you have super sensitive hearing er sumin? The fuel pump noise isn't that bad... kinda comforting sound to me. Maybe someone took out the insulation bushing on the fuel pump bracket???

also, if you remove the spare tire, the cover, and the foam matt in the bottom of the rear hatch you can hear all kinds of rear suspension noise that you never heard before.

I can vouch for that one And if you completely gut the rear of the car the humming sound is exceptionally soothing. Like someone playing a Kazoo in an operah hall and you've got front row seats to an empty amphetheater

Deep thoughts... by Jack Handy.

uh hum (clears throat)

"The face of a child can say it all, especially the mouth part of the face."

"You know what would make a good story? Something about a clown who make people happy, but inside he's real sad. Also, he has severe diarrhea."

Rod likes to write. Maybe he can get that one going

Whatta ya say Rod? Here's your chance to shine as an author. You could call it "The Sad Clown, With A Smile Upon His Happy Face Even Though Deep, Deep, Deep, Deep, Deep, Down Inside He's Really Sad But He Still Looks Happy On The Outside Cause He's Got A Smile On His Face, A 40 In His Left, An Animal Ballon In His Right, And A Revolver In His Waist But He's Still Got His Red Clown Nose And A Smile On So Everyone Thinks He's Happy But He's Really Suffering From An Aching Soul And A Nasty Case Of The Runs, Yo"--A Story By Rod-digga, Illustrations By L-Dub"

So...?

Yeah, I could do it... but it'd need a good bit of back story building. Lost part of his colon in the Gulf War. His father and grandfather were both circus clowns, but both died in freakish elephant related tragedies. Wife left him for the bearded lady... stuff like that.
