Having a little trouble

I went to start up my 1983 280zx non-Turbo the other day and it ran fine at first but I went and pulled out onto the main road it lost all power. It idles now much lower then it ever has and it is very under powered. It takes a long time to rev up as well. I cleaned the conectors on the AFM, TPS, ECU and CHTS. I checked fuel pressure and I get about 38psi before the fuel rail. I sprayed starter fluid around potential vacuum leaks and I saw no increase in RPM's. I am stuck on this. Thanks!

you hit all the easy stuff so maybe the ecu went pfft. Pull the ecu cover and look for burnt components. the other problem that gives you gremlins in a Z is low voltage. get the battery load tested. closely examine your battery cables and terminals. if you have those clamp on one size fitall terminals they can give you fits. check with northwest z club to maybe get some help. they sometimes come up to Seattle (zccw.org) and visit with us. good bunch

be sure your ground (negative) cable goes first to a bolt into the body and then to the starter. grounding thru the starter/bell housing can be iffy
