so gunna b having my first car put in my drivway tomorow n its gunna b a 1981 datsun. gunna do a full tear down n rebuild got a few things of rust n that so thatll have to get fixed as i go along. but i was wondering is it possible to change it from the automatic that it is to a 5 speed manual? and if it is is it easyer to buy a parts car that has a 5 speed in it or is there a tranny kit u can buy or order all the parts online or how ud go about it?

If you have a 5 speed parts car, it will be a million times easier.

You will need the clutch pedal assembly, the brake pedal from a manual ZX, the Master and Slave cylinder, a flywheel and clutch kit, 5 speed tranny and a manual drive shaft. Along with the console pieces and shift boot.

Best bet, either spend all day in a junk yard, or just buy a parts Z with a 5 speed. Its not a turbo is it?

don't forget the hard line from master to slave . and the hole is already there for the slave, just unbolt the cover plate. It's really easy to do.
