Water Leak

I have a bad water leak coming down the firewall. I don't know if it is the t-tops or the wind shield but I want my car to drive in the rain so. Also is there a good way to look for leaks with a watering can or something?

Oh yeah... detail

The water leak was right near the clutch pedal, it leaked water striaght to the floor pan. The water was dripping straight down the firewall.

Is there any rust around the windshield / cowl? Has the windshield ever been replaced?

There is very little surface rust. Very little just because the paint is original and sun has just ruined it but I think the window has never been replaced.
